After taking 2 of 3 games from the Dodgers over the weekend, the Padres start a three games series versus the Rockies tonight. The Rockies themselves are surprisingly off a sweep of the defending World Series Rangers and have know won 4 straight. Even though the Rockies have won 4 straight, they’re still a terrible team and will come back down to reality tonight. The Rockies send D. Hudson to the mound to face R. Vasquez, Hudson (6.35 ERA) has been brutal this season as the Rockies have lost 6 of his 7 starts overall and all 6 losses have been by multiple runs. Vasquez has been serviceable for the Padres and will be able to get the job at home versus a suspect Rockies offense. The Padres will win this game by multiple runs.

Washington Nationals -1.5 +128

The White Sox host the Nats for a three game series starting tonight, the Nats send their best pitcher to the mound in T. Williams to face C. Flexen. Flexen and the White Sox have had zero success in his home starts as they’ve lost 3 of his 4, and that will happen when you’re starter has a 6.35 home ERA. Williams has been excellent no matter where he’s started with a 1.96 overall (1.65 ERA at home & 2.21 ERA on the road) with the Nats winning 6 of his 7 starts. All three of the White Sox home losses in Flexen starts have been by 5 runs or more and I expect more of that tonight as the they will not be able to score versus Williams. I like the Nats by multiple runs here.

Oakland A’s +158

The A’s are in Houston to start a series with the Astros tonight, two starters that have been struggling mightily are on the mound in R. Stripling (5.14 ERA) and S. Arrighetti (8.43 ERA). Unfortunately, for Stripling three bad starts have really inflated his season numbers, outside of those three starts his era sits at 2.72 and the A’s have had an opportunity to win each. The same cannot be said for Arrighetti, he’s never made it through 6 full innings and the Astros have lost 4 of his 5 starts. The A’s have proven to be a solid club through 40 games and are no longer the cellar dwellers they’ve been over the last couple of years. I like them to surprise the Astros as a big dog tonight.
