New York Rangers -108
The Canes visit the Rangers in a clash of Metropolitan foes. The Canes lead on the division has shrunk significantly over the last 2 weeks and losing home ice is a possibility if they continue playing the way they are. The Rangers are red hot right now having won 4 straight and every win has been by 2 goals or more, the Canes on the other hand have lost 3 of their last 5 and didn’t look particularly good in their 5-4 OT win over the Flyers Saturday. MSG has never been a place the Canes haver had success at; they’re 4-22 in the last 26 meetings there. Give me the Rangers at this small number.
Buffalo Sabres -154
The Sabres host the Predators tonight and it’s starting to be do or die for them right now, they’ve lost 3 straight and a shot at making the playoffs for the first time since 12 years is starting to fade. They’re currently 5 points behind the Panthers with a game in hand, so to say that tonight’s game is a must win is an understatement. The Sabres are the healthier and better team in tonight’s matchup and should win this game especially with the way the Preds have been playing. I like the Sabres to get out of their funk and win.
Minnesota Wild/NJ Devils U6 -111
The Wild are in Jersey to face the Devils; both teams are projected to start their #1 goalies and both F. Gustavsson & V. Vanecek have a GAA of 2.50 or lower. The Devils have played to the under in 5 of their last 7 games while the Wild have played to the over in 6 straight, however, 4 of those 6 were versus non-playoff teams and the Wild feasted on them scoring 4 goals or more in every one of those games. Expect a much tighter game between two quality playoff teams jostling for playoff seeding in their respective conferences.
