The Caps are in Calgary tonight for the final leg of a long 5 game west coast trip. This trip did not start well for the Caps as they lost the first 2 games looking bad in the process versus the Jets 3-0 and Oilers 7-2, they have since rebounded with wins versus the Kraken and Canucks by identical scores of 2-1. The Flames for their part have been playing well of late winning 6 of their last 10, but have really looked bad in their losses. There is one thing the Flames have done in their last 10 games, they’ve either scored or given up a lot of goals. In those four losses they’ve given 4+ goals in each game and in their 6 wins they’ve scored 4+ goals resulting in the over hitting 8 times with one push. I like the Flames in regulation and over the total as they catch a tired Caps team in a good spot.

Buffalo Sabres even

Two teams fighting for their playoff chances meet tonight when the Sabres visit the Kraken. The Kraken sit 11 points behind the Golden Knights for the final playoff spot in the West, however, have lost 4 straight games at the worst possible time with only 16 games remaining on their schedule. The Sabres are sitting in a better position in the East only 5 points behind the 8th seeded Red Wings with 14 games left to play. Outside of their 5-4 OT loss to the Golden Knights, the Kraken offense has really been struggling to score as they’ve scored a combined 2 goals over the other 3 losses. That could be an issue tonight versus the Sabres that have given up a combined 9 goals over their last 4 games. I like the Sabres here on the road tonight.
