The Caps and Rangers play the back end of a H&H at MSG, the Caps used a 3rd period comeback to beat the Rangers at home yesterday 3-2 as C. Lindgren outdueled J. Quick in goal. This afternoon we should see D. Keumper face I. Shesterkin in goal with both teams being on the B2B. Neither Kuemper nor Shesterkin has been very good this season, Kuemper has an abysmal 3.27 GAA and .891 save percentage while Sheskertin is at 2.90 GAA and .901. For those whom follow the Rangers, know that Shesterkin's GAA is normally below 2.50, so for it to be almost .5 goals higher, that is concerning, The Rangers are one of the better home teams in the league at 13-6 and have a propensity to score more goals at home than on the road so I expect to see the same type of result we saw Dec 27th when the Rangers beat the Caps 5-1 on home ice. Hoping for one more goal on either side to cash the total as well.

GB Packers +7 -105

The Packers (9-8) head to Dallas to face the Cowboys (12-5) this afternoon, for one of the NFC Wild Card games. The Cowboys success at AT&T is well known as they went 8-0 and scored 30 points per game versus their opponents this season. However, they did have the luxury of a weak schedule which padded several wins for them and they also did not perform well versus teams with a winning record going 4-4 and would have covered this line of -7 in only 2 of those 4 wins. The Bills proved in Week 15 that you can run the ball down the throats of the Cowboys with great success if you have a good OL and RB and that is something the Packers have in their #8 ranked OL in the NFL & A. Jones at RB. I've never liked M. McCarthy as a coach and think he will find a way to keep this game close and possibly even lose it. I like the Packers plus the points here.
