Val’s Big Payday Parlay February 22nd 2023

Val

We were 55 seconds away from hitting the parlay last night, but no! Veteran defenseman A. Pietrangelo had to take a delay of game penalty with under 2 minutes left which allowed the Blackhawks to score and tie the game which screwed our Vegas -.5 regulation play.

Winnipeg Jets/NY Islanders U5.5 -116

The Jets are in Long Island to face the Islanders tonight, these are two teams that trend to the under in their games, the Jets have played to the under the most in the NHL at 39-14 while the Islanders are above .500 to the under at 31-26. We will have two elite goalies going head to head in C. Hellebuyck and I. Sorokin which will result in limited scoring opportunities and add to that that the Islanders lost probably their best playmaker in M. Barzal to injury. I expect a low scoring game between these two teams.

Calgary Flames -1.5 +128

The Coyotes host the Flames tonight, even though the Flames have looked like trash of late there is one thing they can hold their hat up to entering tonight’s game and that is they have been able to totally dominate the Coyotes as of late. The Flames have won 6 straight versus the Yotes and 8 of the last 10 meetings, while winning 5 of those 8 games by multiple goals. I understand that the Yotes have played well lately winning 3 of 4 games but let’s be realistic here they’re still one of the worst teams in the league. I like the Flames to right the ship with a multiple goal victory.

Providence Friars +7 -106

The Friars visit the UConn Huskies for a Big East matchup tonight. This is a battle of two top 25 ranked teams with the Friars are #20 and UConn #18, the Friars beat the Huskies on their home court Jan 4th 73-61 as 5.5 point dog. Both teams are solid ATS with the Friars at 17-10 and the Huskies at 16-10-1 on the season but the Huskies have tailed off ATS lately as their 4-6 ATS in their last ten, while the Friars are 8-2 ATS in their last ten. I’m sure the Huskies will have revenge on their mind from their earlier loss in Providence in January but I’m just not convinced they will cover this number.
