San Diego Padres +137
The San Diego Padres and their fancy new acquisitions visit the Dodgers in what should be a nice competitive weekend series. It will be S. Manaea versus T. Gonsolin on the mound. My play in on the Padres because we can get a much improved offensive lineup at plus money versus a pitcher that has regressed over the last month or so in Gonsolin. Manaea has also pitched better on the road than at home this season which is an added bonus here.
Texas Rangers +164
Tonight is G2 of this series between the White Sox and Rangers; the Rangers took the opener last night by a score of 3-2. The advantage on the mound is clearly to the White Sox with D. Cease facing G. Otto; however, the White Sox offense hasn’t been rolling as of late meaning Cease won’t have as much wiggle room on the mound. If he were to surrender 3-4 runs the Sox could and probably will be in trouble. I like the Rangers to surprise the Sox at a nice price.
Toronto Blue Jays/Minnesota Twins O8.5 -118
The Jays and Twins play G2 of this 4 game series tonight in Minny. The Jays thumped the Twins last night 9-3; I expect another offensive game here as we have J. Berrios and T. Mahle on the mound. When Berrios pitches on the road there is only one way to go and that is play the over in the game. His road ERA this season is 7.15 and 8 of his 10 starts have gone over the total. The Twins bats should be able to get theirs versus their former teammate. Mahle will be making his first start for his new club and will be making it versus a hot Blue Jays club, the Jays have scored 3 or more runs in 9 of their last 13 games. I don’t see them having any issues scoring at least 4 runs versus Mahle tonight.
