LA Dodgers -1.5 -122

The Mets and Dodgers play the finale of their 3 game series this afternoon when A. Houser faces T. Glasnow on the mound. The fans in LA LA land must be freaking out after the Dodgers signed, S. Ohtani, Y. Yamamoto and traded for T. Glasnow in the offseason and sit at 12-11 after 23 games. Sweeping series in baseball are pretty hard to do, especially on the road and given that the Dodgers have the better pitcher on the mound you have to believe that will be in a position to avoid being swept. Glasnow is looking to rebound from a very bad start versus the Nats where he gave up 6 ER in 5 innings in loss. Houser has pitched well at CITI field this season but was roughed up badly in his lone road start, I think he gets roughed up again on the road today and the Dodgers avoid being swept.

Cincinnati Reds -1.5 +153

The Reds look to beat the Angels this afternoon when they send their best starter to the mound F. Montas to face J. Soriano of the Angels. Montas is looking to rebound from an awful start he had versus the Mariners 5 days ago when he didn't get to the 3rd inning allowing 5 runs. Soriano has made 2 starts this season, both versus the offensively inept Rays, so it is difficult to gage if he will have success versus a team like the Reds. One thing is for sure and that is that the Reds are seeing the ball well in this series as they scored 7 runs in both G1 & G2. The Angels have a mediocre starting 9 at best and with it being Sunday, you have to expect certain starters to possibly get the day off weakening their lineup even more, I like the Reds on the run line here.

SD Padres -124

The Padres are another team today looking to avoid being swept at home when they face the Blue Jays this afternoon. The Padres starters in G1 & G2 of this series have out the Padres being the 8 ball early so far and it was too much for them to comeback from. Today, one of their best starters in theory J. Musgrove takes the mound with hopes of building on his last start when he gave up 3 ER over 6 IP in a 7-3 win. The Jays counter with C. Bassitt on the mound who been good overall on the season but has really struggled in 2 road starts this season, his road ERA is 7.72 and the Jays have been smoked in both those games, 8-0 & 8-2. I like the Padres to get to Bassitt often today and avoid being swept.
