Val's WTA Rome Open Round 1 Play
Val
Record 34-42 (-11.85 units)
Mirra Andreeva -1.5 sets +119 (Risk 1 for 1.19 units) Expected start time 6am EST May 7th
17 year old M. Andreeva faces the veteran P. Badosa in Round 1 of the Rome Open tomorrow morning. The young Andreeva enters this tournament off a successful Madrid Open where she reached the quarterfinals with impressive wins over L. Noskova, M. Vondrousova and J. Paolini. Badosa is clearly still dealing with health issues that have hindered her performance, she's lost 6 of her last 8 matches with her two wins coming versus S. Halep who hadn't played a match in over a year as she was serving a PED suspension and the other was versus the #66 ranked A. Krueger. Even if Badosa where to somehow find a way to play well, Andreeva is such solid defensive player she will find a way to outlast Badosa. I like Andreeva to win this match in straight sets versus the unhealthy Badosa.
