Italy's M. Berrettini faces Japan's T. Daniel in round 2 of the Indian Wells Open. Berrettini is a former top 10 player in the world but was slowed done by injury late last year and that caused him to drop back to #23 overall. However, make no mistake he is much better than his current ranking. Daniel is ranked outside the top 100, therefore, is forced to play play-in matches to qualify for most tournaments, he performs fairly well versus the average talent on tour but then reality kicks in when he plays the upper echelon of talent. These two faced off in a tournament in Naples Italy last October and Berrettini made quick work of Daniel winning 6-2 6-3 on hard court and I expect more of the same today. I like Berrettini on straight sets.
