Halys in the quarterfinals of the Estoril Open in Portugal; Thiem a former #3 ranked player in the world has dealt with several injuries over the last couple of years that have caused him to slide way down the rankings where he currently sits at #111. However, you cannot deny the talent and that clay court is the surface that he's had the most success on during his career, he's won 72% of his matches on clay court. Halys is a 26 year old that has had marginal success at best on the ATP tour, the majority of his success has been on the Challenger tour where he plays much weaker players. Clay court is not a surface where he excels at only a 52% win rate. I'm going old school here with a play on the veteran Thiem on clay court.
