The Sharp Report for May 16, 2023

This article will be updated throughout the day as I get updates from the sportsbook I can access.
 
Each section will be explained below, and the time will be added when the Sharp Report is updated. You can use this information to make your picks or tail the hot sections. Historically, we want to tail the sharp plays and fade the book and square plays. The Whale bets are huge, and he's trying to win 1 million in 2023. He's one of the most respected bettors at the sportsbook. Remember that this information comes from a sharp / market maker sportsbook, and the squares (public) playing there are more experienced than regular Joe's betting on retail books; therefore, they mind finding success in the short term.

Last update: 3:00 PM (EST) IN PROGRESS 

Just like last year, the sharps are taking a beating in the MLB. Lost in 9 of last 10 days. The situation is not alarming, they are down 3 units in May however down 9.72 in the last 10 days. Will we see some positive regression? We will see.

The squares are down 15 units and we fade those plays so that section is going strong.

The book went 2-1 yesterday, it's up 11 units for the month but down 5 units in the last 7 days. We should see some regression there since those plays have lost 13 out of the last 17 months.

The whale lost his only bet yesterday. Some are waiting for him to regress from a hot 15-6 start. he's 1-3 last 3 days.

I went 1-3 yesterday and am also due for some positive regression!

These are plays that the sharp bettors have been betting at the sportsbook. If you see a team in this section, sharp money is on one side of the play. If you see a team being removed throughout the day, it means that sharp money came on the other side.

Updated around 4 pm, in this section, you will find the top plays that the book will cheer for since they took large sums of money on the opposite teams. I know the house always wins; however, this info comes from a sharp book, and these plays have been the most consistent when they are faded, especially when there is no public interest on the other side.
