Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps September 21 2022

While most of us are sleeping, Market Makers and Sharps are adjusting the markets so that by the time we wake up and are ready to bet, the markets have adjusted in favour of the sportsbook. Let's take a quick look at some games where the sportsbooks had to make some adjustments based on heavy sharp interest.

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are the first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by lowering their bet limits when posting a spread or Moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits. Talbot has been hot and won his last 8 starts but don't discount Jarry he's been solid this year.

RECAP: The money moved on Houston yesterday and the money was right. Sharps were also right on KC but they were wrong on St Louis.

We look for sharps to be much more active in MLB now that the NHL and NBA seasons are over however this is not the sport that sharps are the most excited about since market makers tend to have very low max limits early on most of the games due to many variables in MLB. Weather is one of them and probably the most important.

For VIPs, your best start would be to look at the morning sharp report, which will give you an excellent summary of what happened overnight. In the afternoon, the sharp report updates and games might be added or removed based on what happened in the morning. The last update is around 4-5 pm EST and not much movement is expected after that. If there is movement, it will usually be square money loading up on games before they start.

Another tool that can be used with the sharp report is the MLB model on our website. Comparing the sharp money with our projection can help you make your own picks if both the model and sharp agree.

The format of this article will be changed once we will have multiple sports running every day and the focus will go back to looking at lines that moved the most overnight.

It's been a busy night and morning in baseball. The sharp report is showing 6 games that the sharps have targeted. Nonetheless, the moves haven't been dramatic. Let's take a look at the most important ones.

After a 29-run game in Philadelphia yesterday, the sharp money is on the over with Gausman and Wheeler. Wheeler is off the IL and Gausman has been having issues as of late with an ERA of 5.68 in his last 3 starts. The over 7.5 -125 was slammed this morning and booked moved it to 8o -120

Baltimore laid an egg versus Detroit last night with Voth on the mount. They opened a -165 favorite and how close to 80% of the handle however the books moved the moneyline 10 pts in favor of Detroit the line is now -155.

Another total is on the move and it's a big swing. The total opened at 8.5o -115 in Kansa City and dropped to 8u -125 and on this way to drop at 7.5. The wind is blowing in at about 15 mph and the under is the preferred play for the sharps.

Lynn has been one of the best pitchers since the all-start break and his facing McKenzie tonight. This is huge series for both teams and the White Sox will try and take one back after losing 10-7 with their ace on the mount yesterday. Sharps moved on the White Sox this morning moving the line from -125 to -135.

Two nights ago we were on the under in Colorado and it didn't work out for us. Of course, the following day the under hits and the sharps like it again today. With Webb and Marquez on the mount, the total opened at 10.5u -115. Marquez hasn't been good at home this year and has an ERA close to 7 however the weather doesn't look good for tonight and sharp hit the under late last night and books adjusted the total to 10u-120 with possible indications that it can drop to 9.5 with 90% of the handle crushing the under. When was the last time we saw a total of 9.5 in Colorado?

Good luck today
