Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps October 8, 2022

We look for sharps to be much more active in MLB now that the NHL and NBA seasons are over however this is not the sport that sharps are the most excited about since market makers tend to have very low max limits early on most of the games due to many variables in MLB. TCU opened a -5 favorite 5 days ago and the handle jumped from 58% to 78% with sharp money hitting the -5.5. The book moved the line to -7 the following day and that key number will usually attract money on the other side and it did. Sitting at -6.5 -120 this can move again.

Tennessee and LSU are expected to be in a high-scoring contest as per the sharp money. The total moved a full 2 points from 61.5 to 63.5 on October 3rd. Money didn't stop coming on the over and the book settled at 65 on Wednesday and since then, it dropped a little to 64.5. Tickets and the handle are still dominated by over money.

Market maker Betonline opened Texas at -5 and sharp money came in on that number and all the way up to -6.5 on October 4th. It's obvious they had info that Ewer would be back. Yesterday the book made a move and pushed the line to -9 with news that Gabriel might be out. That move had nothing to do with sharp money. The line is now sitting at -8 and I wouldn't touch it unless you take an alternative line at -6.5 or better.

In baseball, it makes things so much easier to follow and track when we only have 4 games. In Cleveland, the book is still being careful with the opening of their max limits however a couple of sharps hit the 5k max limit on Tampa a couple of times and the book dropped the line to -103 from a soft +134 opening.

There is no movement in the other games and we have yet to get a line for the Mets game.
