Wilmington Country Club (South Course)is a 7,534-yard par 71 Robert Trent Jones Sr. design. What are the 10th, 13th, 14th, and 15th holes for the members will be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for this weekend's tournament. The average green size at Wilmington CC is 8,100 square feet, ranking inside the top 5 of the largest green complexes players have seen this season. The green surfaces are made of bentgrass and will roll a 12.5 on the stimp, faster than the Tour average.
The fairways look to be narrow, and the course is long. The long hitters will have an advantage this week. The club has hosted six USGA events in the past, along with the 2013 Palmer Cup competition between Europe and the United States. That American team featured Justin Thomas. The FedExCup field will experience a major cut after the BMW Championship, with only the top 30 in the FedExCup standings making it to the season finale at East Lake. The automatic qualifiers for the Presidents Cup teams will also be determined after the BMW. Six Americans and eight International players will earn a spot for their respective teams. There will be no cut this week.
Top 50 in the model

August 17
We caught the winner last week with our Zalatoris bet. The model is consistently getting us in a spot to win. Zalatoris broke through with his first PGA win last week to get us the cash. We will try and go back this week as the FedEx Playoffs continue. With a short and strong field, I am playing some of the guys with the shortest prices. There is still some value there because of the strength of the field.
My top choice is Scottie Scheffler. Sheffler is coming off a missed cut, just his 4th of the year and 2nd in the last month. This is keeping his price lower than it should be. His pair of doubles last week in the first two rounds kept him from playing the weekend. He will not have that worry this week with no cut. Scheffler has shown how good he can be when playing against the best fields. He has four wins (Masters, Bay Hill, WGC, Charles Schwab) with a 2nd at the US Open. I have been on Taylor Pendrith during his hot run the last couple of months. He was on a streak of 5 straight top 20 finishes before finishing 68th last week. He has a T2 at The Rocket Mortgage. We had him to win that week. We just need a top 5 this week. The course sets up well for a guy like Pendrith, who can pound it off the tee (11th in driving distance).
