PGA Travelers Futures Bets
Eight out of the top 10 best golf players in the world are heading east after an exciting U.S. Open, where a first-time major champion was crowned. They are now making their way from Los Angeles to Cromwell, Connecticut for the 2023 Travelers Championship. The three highest-ranked players in the world will be leading the pack. Scottie Scheffler, who is currently ranked as the number one player in the world, has been having a fantastic year. He hasn't finished worse than twelfth place in any tournament so far. He is getting closer and closer to winning for the third time this season, as he has achieved four consecutive top-five finishes, including doing well at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Jon Rahm, who is ranked second in the world, has won the most tournaments this season, with a total of four victories. However, he hasn't won any trophies since his triumph at the Masters in April. Despite facing some challenges on the putting green, Rahm is determined to keep performing well. Rory McIlroy, who currently holds the third spot in the world rankings, has won one tournament this season. He has also come very close to winning several times, with his most recent second-place finish at Los Angeles Country Club, where he was the runner-up to Wyndham Clark. Since his last major championship victory in 2014, McIlroy has had 18 top-10 finishes on the major stage. Other players like Patrick Cantlay and defending champion Xander Schauffele are hoping to win their first tournaments of the season. Matt Fitzpatrick, Tony Finau, Max Homa, Viktor Hovland, and Wyndham Clark are also eager to add to their total number of wins. The model breakdown for this course is as followsDriving Distance 25%Putting 14%Driving Accuracy 25%Around The Green 11%Approach 25%The emphasis is on the last 24 rounds the golfer has played. These are the best values, not necessarily the best golfers this week. As always, I play these bets to win 1 unit. It limits your risk, which is what we want to do on longshot futures types of bets.We are coming off a great week at the US Open. We cash the Wyndham Clark top 5 bet. He was the model's 3rd favorite golfer of the week. Some of you told me you sprinkled a small bet on him to win. Congrats to those that did!Scottie Scheffler should win this tournament. With putting not at a premium it plays well into what he does best which is drive the ball. I am fine if you want to scrap some of the longer shot plays and use Scottie in your win bets. I will be spreading out the risk a little bit more.To Win

Here are the top selections from the model this week in order
1. Scottie Scheffler2. Rickie Fowler3. Wyndham Clark ( We obviously loved Clark last week and the model wants to come right back to him, but the week after winning a major is a difficult one to get up for. There are a lot of commitments that make preparing for a golf tournament impossible. Plus the letdown factor.)4. Rory McIlroy5. Tommy Fleetwood6. Xander Schauffele7. Jon Rahm8. Joseph Bramlett (One of our bets for a T10. He can hammer the driver but the putter is shaky. Putting is not as important this week. If he can have a decent putting weekend we could see a top 10)9. Viktor Hovland10. Matt Fitzpatrick11. Byeong Hun An (Another guy who has been abysmal with the flat stick. The Driving distance is 3rd in the field over his last 24.)12. Jason Day (After a hot start and a win at the Byron Nelson, Day has missed 3 straight cuts. His shots gained total is trending south. Not my favorite play but he has not totally cratered yet and there is decent value for a small amount of risk.)13. Hideki Matsuyama (Hideki is all about the approach shots which are highly regarded here. The putter is always a problem. If we see a decent Hideki putting weekend we could cash this one.)14. Tony Finau15. Adam Scott16. Vincent Norman (I do not like him enough to wager but in GPP's at $6700 he isn't a bad flyer. His putting is so bad that I am not sure he putts well enough to contend but he did have a T8 at the Byron Nelson.)17. Stephan Jaeger18. Corey Conners19. Jimmy Walker (Shocked to see Walker here. Not sure he has much of a shot.)20. Eric Cole
