PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Statsational Futures Bets
John Alesia
For the first few weeks of the PGA season, the Statsational golf bets will be free for all.
I had a successful week last week with my golf picks at the Honda Classic. My prediction of Chris Kirk at +3000 to win the tournament came true as he won it in a playoff over Eric Cole. I also correctly predicted Justin Suh to finish in the top 5 and Dylan Wu to finish in the top 10.
I'm excited to share my picks for this week's Arnold Palmer Classic! As I analyzed the Bay Hill golf course, I found that accuracy off the tee is crucial on this challenging course with tight fairways and plenty of hazards. This means that a golfer who can hit the ball straight and keep it in play while also having a strong approach game and putting skills is most likely to succeed.
I have identified several golfers who fit this profile and have attractive odds to win the tournament. Max Homa, currently at +2000 on DraftKings, has been in good form recently with a 2nd place finish at the Genesis Invitational, and his accuracy off the tee (18th in total driving) should serve him well at Bay Hill. Tony Finau, with odds of +2600 on FanDuel, has a strong all-around game and has been in good form this season with four top-10 finishes already.
Another golfer with attractive odds is Jason Day, who is currently at +3300 on BetMGM. Day has a strong track record at Bay Hill, with a win in 2016 . If he can recapture some of that form, he could be a contender this week.
For longer shots, I recommend Keith Mitchell at +5000 on FanDuel and Chris Kirk at +7500 on DraftKings. Mitchell has been in good form recently with a T5 finish at the Genesis and a T4 at Pebble Beach, while Kirk has already shown that he can win on the PGA Tour this season with his win last week.
In addition to these picks to win the tournament, I have also identified several golfers with attractive odds to finish in the top 5 or top 10. Justin Rose and Seamus Power are both +1500 on FanDuel to finish in the top 5, while JJ Spaun at +1200 on FanDuel and Justin Suh at +1000 on FanDuel are both strong picks to finish in the top 10.
Finally, Brendon Todd at +1600 on DraftKings and Alex Smalley at +1400 on FanDuel are both good options to finish in the top 10 as well. Todd has a strong approach game (16th in proximity to the hole) that should serve him well at Bay Hill, while Smalley is a talented young player who could surprise this week.
Overall, I believe that my picks for the Arnold Palmer Classic offer a good mix of favorites and long shots, with several golfers who are well-suited to the challenges of the Bay Hill golf course. These picks are based on careful analysis of the data and statistics, and while there are no guarantees in golf, I believe that these golfers offer the best chance of success this week.
