Anthony P's NHL Model March 27, 2022
We will add new sports and models as we build the app and make it more robust. While our developers work on that, we want to give you as much information as possible via content and articles.I will post my MLB. NFL and NHL models as often as possible.
Reading the model is very simple. We are looking for EVs of over 5% on sides and 8 to 10% on totals. Sportsbooks tend to inflate lines on big favorites. I love to take a big underdog in those spots if they have a good pitcher on the mount and the game is on home turf. You should all play around with these and track them yourselves. See if you are seeing those with a significant edge losing often. Would you like to unlock all my VIP picks? What a wild day yesterday was in the NHL! The Avalanche needed overtime to defeat the Coyotes, and the game between the Kings and Blues ended in a thrilling 7-6 finish, making Val's parlay a big winner. With six games on the schedule tonight, let's dive into the action and examine some betting opportunities.
According to the sharp report, the smart money is on the Over 6.5 in Buffalo, as well as on the Panthers and the Kraken. Our Overnight Grind article provides an in-depth breakdown of the game in Buffalo, so be sure to check it out for insights and analysis.
As for the rest of the slate, Colorado and Edmonton find themselves in prime positions tonight, making it interesting to see the DFS ownership projections once they're released. Both teams are heavy favorites, with Edmonton facing a Coyotes team that's playing on consecutive days. Arizona is 3-5-2 with no rest and has allowed under 3 goals per game in their last 10 outings. The Ducks' shitty defense makes the Avalanche an even more appealing target for DFS tonight.
The Seattle-Minnesota game is shaping up to be a fantastic matchup. Although betting limits are still low, the money line has shifted, with Seattle's odds going from +123 to +113 at Pinnacle and +131 to +115 at BOL. Seattle boasts a 7-1 record in their last 8 road games but has struggled in their last 6 games on one day's rest, going 1-5. Meanwhile, the Wild have a 9-2 record in their last 11 games against the Western Conference and dominates in all metrics except offensive stats.
Predicting the outcome of this series is challenging, given that Minnesota has won three of the previous five encounters, and both teams have recorded a road shutout this season. Despite Seattle's motivation to chase down the Oilers for the 3rd place in the Pacific Division, the Wild are the better team, having recently overtaken the Stars for the top spot in the Central Division. Minnesota's impressive 14-1-4 record in their last 19 games and nine victories in their last 11 contests against the Western Division should give bettors confidence in backing the hosts and I disagree with the sharp money on the Kraken.
Conversely, the Kraken has won just three of their last eight games overall and has a poor 23-47 record against teams with winning records. There is no value in this game and my lean would be the Wild!
Good luck today!
