Jake's College Basketball Picks 2/25

Happy Saturday! Another great Saturday. Where I am, it is 55 and Sunny, and you cannot ask for anything more on the last Saturday of February. February has been an excellent month for me. I have gone up almost 25 units in college basketball this month, and I feel I am getting hot right when it matters. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks as I make picks regarding all the Conference Tournaments and the NCAA Tournament.

#17 Indiana vs. #5 Purdue: If you remember, Indiana beat Purdue at home earlier in the year last year, went to West Lafayette, and almost pulled off the upset. This year, the setup is pretty similar to the previous year. The Hoosiers are coming off a bad loss at MSU and need a statement win going into March. When they played in early February, the Hoosiers jumped out to a fifteen-point first-half lead; if that lead was any smaller, I believe Indiana would have lost that game. They went cold in the second half, but a few key plays and a phenomenal game from Jalen Hood-Schifino kept the Hoosier's lead safe and rained a party in Bloomington. Although it seemed as if Edey was kept intact, he still dropped 33 on the Hoosiers. Purdue's shooting was not there as they shot 50% from the field and 33% from 3 on. Purdue doubled the number of turnovers Indiana had but outrebounded the Hoosiers.

I do not want to go into too much detail about this game because it is the battle of whatever big man rises to the test. Indiana has proved they can beat Purdue and has found ways to maintain Edey during their last matchup. However, betting on the Hoosiers away from Assembly Hall is essentially donating to charity. But Purdue they have been shaky at times this year. Being at Mackey definitely will help, but they need to worry about Indiana's weapons in this game.
