Jake's College Basketball Picks 1/21

Another solid slate of college basketball games this Saturday. I have had a down week, one to forget. I am down 3 units but still up 12 in 2023. Starting at 12, there is elite basketball from top to bottom.

Miami (FL) vs. Duke: The seventeenth-ranked Miami Hurricanes travel to Durham to take on the Duke Blue Devils. Duke has had a very inconsistent season. They picked up wins over Oregon State, Xavier, Ohio State, and Iowa. However, with a 3-3 start in ACC play and a very close win over Boston College, the Duke Blue Devils have some areas of concern. Ranked number 29 in the Kenpom, they bring in Miami, ranked 43. However, the Hurricanes have wins over Providence, Rutgers, and Virginia. They also lost in overtime at NC State, while Duke got obliterated at NC State. Led by Isaiah Wong and Norchard Omier, I expect the Hurricanes to go into Cameron and pull off a close upset. Looking at their haslametrics and kenpom rankings, Miami seems to be the more efficient team. The main thing boasting Duke is their strength of schedule.
