RECAP: Hey, it’s been a minute! While I’ve been cranking out videos for the people, the articles deserve love, too - and we’ve been on an absolute tear in the NBA, going 12-2 in our last fourteen NBA picks. Over the past few days, we nailed the Bucks -2 against Dallas, Memphis -2.5 against the Spurs, and then over the past two days have hit on Toronto ML and last night we rode Miami. Let’s keep this hot streak going!

The biggest test here will be if Lebron James plays. I’m going to gamble on him playing, especially with the line where it is; the books know better than we do sometimes, and if the line is that high in this game, and we’re seeing a ton of movement on it, then I think he’ll play.

The Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Utah Jazz tonight at home in a game that is going to be on National TV. While the Lakers haven’t exactly been a sparkplug to begin the season, I think that most fans would take an 8-6 record with the tribulation they’ve felt already this season. They’re taking on a Utah team that has a swiss cheese defense and has only won 4 out of the 13 games they’ve played this season; not ideal. 

And they struggle mightily on the road; they have only won one road game all season, and have a bottom-five road defense in the league over their past five games. The Lakers, on the other hand, have a top-six offense over their last five, and have been incredibly diligent on the defensive-end of the ball ranking 11th in FG percentage allowed. They don’t foul and give up free shots (they’re the best in the league at that) and they can rebound with the best of them.

This game features two of the best rebounding teams in the league and it’ll be a battle near the rim. That’s why we’re siding with the much hotter team that plays well at home against a team that really struggles heavily on the road. Lebron James and Anthony Davis turn it on in games like this, where they know they’ll have to limit scoring; to me, this screams LA. Let’s take the Lakers by 8.
