MLB Bet of the Day | July 25, 2024

In this column, I’ll go through the BEST BET I’m seeing in the league today; this can be in a spread, a moneyline, an Over/Under, or a player prop.

RECAP: It seems like in the MLB for every one good day that we have, we have two bad days in a row, and that’s what’s happened so far this week as we go 3-4 for a loss of 1.4 units. We lose by two hooks and our other plays were never in doubt, which is super frustrating. When we aren’t winning, sometimes it feels like the walls are crumbling around us – but today is a new day! Small slate, let’s see what we can find.

Maybe we’re going about the MLB all wrong, and we have to turn to a favorite that won us a TON of money in the NBA this past season… and it resides in the Sharp App Money Handles tool. I’ve monitored the success of this tool in the MLB, and the stars align for us this morning as we’ve finally gotten a play that has everything I’d want in value in these Sharp tools.

The Tampa Bay Rays are in the third game of their series with the Toronto Blue Jays and we’ve got two consistent pitchers on the mound in Chris Bassitt and Taj Bradley. Today, we’re seeing significant value in one of these teams to get the better of the other. 

Our Sharp App Money Handles tool is showing potential sharp money on the Rays today, with a a bet percentage of 38% and a money percentage of 97%. When we used this method in the NBA, it gained us over 60 units on the season – in the MLB, these situations are more few and far between, but we have to capitalize on it today. And even though the moneylines are near even (I got this at -106), our Sharp AI Projections are showing TB has a 63% predictive win percentage in this game. And with a difference of 59% in the Money Handles tool… that’s a slam. 

Bassitt has been up and down throughout his last few starts, and in his last start since the ASG, he was blown up late by a bad Detroit offense; meanwhile, Taj Bradley is on the best streak of his young career, dominating batters over his last five starts. He’s allowed only two earned runs over his last thirty one innings pitched – holy smokes. During that stretch, he has a WHIP under one, and has shut down offenses of Cleveland, New York, and Texas during that time. 

The Rays are one of the best “game three” teams in baseball, and going 12-5 in the third game of the season coming off of a loss. That means that all of the stars align for this play, and I’m so happy that we caught it.
