College Lacrosse Future Bets

One of my main passions is lacrosse. I had offers to play lacrosse at low-tier Division 1 schools and was committed to playing lacrosse at a Division 3 school before I ultimately decided to go to Indiana. I continue to play lacrosse and have a passion for College Lacrosse. Last season, when college lacrosse sports gambling was first introduced on Draft Kings, it was fairly easy to make money, and Vegas posted very clear lines. Because there is not much information on college lacrosse relative to college basketball and football, the lines can sometimes be understated. I went up over fifteen units last lacrosse season on a small sample size of games.

Because of the lack of information and looking at the odds of future bets, a lot of money can be made in lacrosse. These teams I will discuss are my picks to make it to Philadelphia this Memorial Day Weekend.

Notre Dame, +650:
If you followed lacrosse last year, Notre Dame was among the most controversial rulings on selection Sunday. The committee completely overlooked the ACC, and although Virginia and Notre Dame were co-conference champions, Virginia got the ACC auto-bid because of Virginia's win over Notre Dame. A complete mistake by the committee and left Notre Dame out of competing for a National Championship. Compared to the previous years, last year was a down year for ACC lacrosse, but the ACC is still not a walk in the park, and the ACC is still a top 3 conference. Graduate players Chris Fake and Griffin Westlin are big gets for Notre Dame. In addition, the 2 Kavanagh brothers, Chris and Pat, have a chance to add to their family's legacy at Notre Dame. Notre Dame will have a massive chip on there, should, following all the shenanigans that occurred last year. This team could be better than the 2015 Notre Dame team that fell to the hands of Denver in a phenomenal overtime matchup in the semi-finals.

Rutgers, +2000:
The Big Ten is stacked this year. Maryland and Rutgers will be the two teams that represent and lead the Big Ten this year. However, Rutgers is valued well at +2000. They finally made it to championship weekend last year. Although they lost the coveted Kirst brothers, Rutgers still has a solid group of young talent that has the experience now playing on championship weekend. Two tough losses to Maryland last year but wins against Harvard and Penn in the tournament are enough to boost this group going into the 2023 season. Having grad transfer Joe Neuman at the face-off X is a massive addition for Rutgers because of his 61% win rate over his career at Yale. I also expect a huge senior campaign from Ross Scott, who picked many awards last year and played his best lacrosse during the tournament. This Rutgers squad will get a big win over Maryland this year and will be back to championship weekend again.

Denver, +3500:
This is the legendary Bill Tierney's last year coaching lacrosse. He has revolutionized the game of lacrosse and expanded it into the midwest by bringing it to Denver. JJ Sillstrop led the Pioneers in scoring last year and has returned. The Big East Conference, besides Georgetown, is having a down year, and I expect Denver to capitalize on that. The Pioneers need to win the Big East. They will find themselves in the tournament, and Bill Tierney will have his last dance moment.

Other teams that could find themselves in championship weekend:
Cornell, +1000
Syracuse, +1800
Princeton, +2000
