The Lightning finish off their 3 game west coast road trip with a visit to the Sharks this afternoon. They’re 1-1 so far on the trip and most would say are a disappointing 4-4 to start the season. Apart from their win over the Panthers the Bolts have feasted on the weaker teams in the league so far, their 3 other wins are versus the Ducks, Blue Jackets & Islanders, their opponent today falls in the latter group. The Sharks did surprise the Maple Leafs as a big dog Thursday but I do not see them doing it two games in a row. The Bolts have dominated this matchup winning 7 of the last 8 meetings with 6 of the 7 wins by multiple goals, that dominance continues today.

Nashville Predators -1.5 +215

The Predators host the Capitals tonight at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds comu into this game having just snapped their 5 game losing in a big way versus the Blues on Thursday 6-2, they were down 2-1 and proceeded to score 5 straight to win the game in decisive manner. The Caps aren’t playing well on the road this season at 1-3 and tonight will not be easy as they’ve lost 4 of their 5 meetings in Nashville. The Caps struggle to score goals on the road, in their 3 road losses to date they’ve scored a combined 4 goals. I like the Preds to continue their home dominance of the Caps with a multi goal victory.

Philadelphia Phillies +129

Z. Wheeler and the Phillies look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the World Series and head back to Philly in the driver’s seat. Wheeler opposes F. Valdez on the mound tonight, the Astros lost their first game of the playoffs last season and face adversity for the first time this postseason. The question now is “can they overcome it”? Wheeler has been super dominant this postseason and put the Phils in a situation to win every game. The Phils bats are hot and it doesn’t seem like any pitcher is able to contain them right now. I will back them tonight as a dog.
