The Braves and Mariners play G2 of their series tonight when R. Lopez faces L. Castillo on the mound. Lopez has been spot on since the started sporting an 0.72 ERA, however, he has benefitted from playing some of the weaker offenses in the league in the White Sox, Marlins, Astros and Mets in terms on run scored. Castillo has turned things around after 3 rough starts to start the season, he has been great over his last 3 starts giving up only 4 ER over his last 19 IP winning 2 of them. You have to expect some sort of regression from Lopez and his career splits as a starter are well above his current numbers. I like the Mariners here as a home dog versus the Braves.

Pittsburgh Pirates -1.5 +134

The Pirates look to rebound tonight versus the A’s after losing the opener of this series last night 5-1. The A’s have surprised many to start the season at 13-17 after losing 112 last season. Tonight it will be Pirates ace M. Keller versus the veteran lefty A. Wood on the mound. Neither pitcher has had much success to start the season, however, Keller has had moments where he’s looked dominant and pitched well, whereas, Wood has been awful in every start except one. I like the Pirates on the run line with their best starter on the hill.

SD Padres -1.5 +144

The Padres look to end a 5 game losing streak tonight when they face the Reds, it will be former Padre N. Martinez on the mound versus Y. Darvish. Darvish will be making his first start since April 14th as he was on the IL with a neck issue. Martinez has not pitched well at all for the Reds this season, his ERA in 3 starts is a whopping 7.31 and he’s been lucky enough to get plenty of run support where the Reds were actually able to win two of them. The Reds may have issues being able to score runs with ease tonight as Darvish has always pitched well at Petco Park since joining the Padres, I look for the Padres to light Martinez like the rest of the league has so far this season. I like the Padres by multiple runs tonight.
